Description In this statue, Black Dzambhala is portrayed holding a blood-filled skullcup. In his left hand, he carries another mongoose named Nehulay, which can spit diamonds. Additionally, he has a pot of gems in his right hand. His appearance symbolizes the elimination of greed and the subduing of the human ego. Around his neck, he wears a necklace made of snakes. In Hinduism, he is known as Kubera, the deity of wealth. His origins can be traced back to ancient India, where he emerged from the waters of a river and granted the power to generate riches to a king facing severe financial difficulties. Black Dzambhala gained further popularity thanks to the work of Bari Lotsawa and Shakyashri Bhadra. Between 1497 and 1557, Ngorchen Konchog Lhundrub created the image of Lord Dzambhala, depicting him with a black complexion, a potbelly, and flowing brown hair. He is adorned with the Eight Great Nagas.
