EX1201 – Optimist adjustable maststep Optiparts – RACE version

Optimist adjustable maststep with reinforced cup. This cup is improved in several key areas to make it more durable: The base and the round part of the cup are both thicker, increasing from 1.5 mm to 2 mm. The weld between the cup and the threaded section has been made thicker. Note: this reinforced maststep (cup) weighs 30 grams more than the existing one. The good news is that the new cup will fit all of the old base plates already mounted in boats, making this a simple upgrade. Further details remain the same compared to the existing maststep; this Optimist maststep has an oval cup, which allows the mast to tilt forward when going downwind. Different mast rakes can easily be repeated using the scale on the base. Separately a mast step spring lock can be purchased. The stainless steel spring prevents the nut from turning accidentally. There is no need for additional locking nuts when the spring lock is used.
