Description Achi Chokyi Drolma plays a vital role as a Dharma protector in Tibetan Buddhism, especially in the Drikung Kagyu tradition. Practitioners regard her as an emanation of Vajrayogini or Tara. She actively protects Buddhist teachings and helps practitioners advance on their spiritual paths. Historically, people honor her as the ancestral protector of the Drikung Kagyu lineage and connect her to its founder, Kyobpa Jigten Sumgon (1143–1217). Tradition tells how she appeared as a wisdom dakini, became Jigten Sumgon’s grandmother, and ensured his birth and the survival of the lineage. During the Mongol invasions in the 13th century, she protected the lineage from destruction. In this thangka, the artist depicts Achi Chokyi Drolma as a peaceful white deity riding a white horse. She holds a mirror, symbolizing wisdom and reality, and grasps reins to show control over karmic forces. Sometimes, she carries a vase of longevity or a staff, and the artist includes four attendants, each representing a different aspect of her. Dimension: Size with Border: 27.75″ Long x 23.75″ Wide.
